I'm interested in many things, but primary among them are drawing and bellydance. I am a pro artist and bellydance as a hobby and a way to stay in shape.

This year I will be holding a Jam session with the help of my friend Kat, fellow dancer and artist. Last year the usual Jam session failed to run...so this year we are determined to have one! Bring your drums, instruments, whatever you like to play and join us please, we would love to have you! For Bellydancer's, this is a chance to get together and have a great time and dance with live music, celebrating and enjoying being alive!… Read more

Piko Piko Detroit

Piko Piko Detroit is a community for all lovers of retro bleep sounds in their music, and is open to a wide range of music genres. We hack our vintage consoles and dance to tiny pixels. We perform at cafes, live-houses, clubs, and even at a birthday parties. If you like video games, computers, pixels, or any other retro treasures, then you will love us.

"Piko Piko(ピコピコ)" is Japanese for "Bleep Bleep" by the way.

avatar for Johanna Gedraitis

Johanna Gedraitis

A relative newcomer to the literary world, Johanna Gedraitis published her first novel only this past November. Her training, strangely enough, has been mostly in the visual arts, having received her BFA in painting from Fort Hays State University. She has shown her works in Hays, Wichita, and Topeka, where she can truthfully say she has sold more than Van Gough did in his lifetime. Beyond that, the most you can say for her artistic talent is that it allows her to paint her own book covers. Meanwhile, her novel, Facilitators, has garnered plenty of friendly feedback and positive revi…

avatar for Nuri Gocay

Nuri Gocay

Nuri has been involved in the IT industry since 1996, when he, at the tender age of 14, was able to pester the local IT firm into his first intern job. In 2000, Nuri took his first call center job, and after pestering the IT guys into giving him a job, he launched a career in contact center IT with a focus on telecom. Nuri lives in New York City with his wife Janet, who he probably pestered until she agreed to marry him. Nuri likes electronic music, tasty drinks, cooking (he's a vegetarian), running, being persistent, and voiding warranties. Nuri has been best friends with James Gamble sin… Read more

I'm a co-founder of BeagleBoard.org where I advocate for open hardware solutions on low-power, affordable hardware capable of running full operating systems like Ubuntu, Android, other Linux variations and much more. The BeagleBoard.org platforms are popular for connecting sensors and controls to the web in devices like image-recognizing automated flying drones.

I am passionate about expanding the multi-way capabilities of the web rather than centralizing around a few key players. Building in richer server capabilities into small footprint devices and building up peer-oriented archite… Read more
